Data Security

Certified Hard Drive Destruction / Tape Media Destruction
Corporate, government and consumer demands for data protection has transformed Data Security into an essential service of the recycling industry. Confidential information from obsolete or defective hard drives, as well as Optical, Tape and Electronic Media, presents a serious risk if not destroyed and disposed of properly. M & K Recovery Group offers data destruction services in our Boston, MA and Austin, TX facilities. Our secure destruction solution consists of NSA-approved degaussing and shredding of material—with destruction witnessed on-site or via a vendor log-in account to our real time IP security cameras.

Degaussing & Shredding
The entire data destruction process is completed on-site in our highly-secured and monitored facilities. Operations are under 24-hour, taped camera surveillance. The destruction process safeguards your confidential information from the moment it arrives until the moment it is destroyed.  M & K offers the complete destruction solution, and ensures customers the security of knowing their data has truly been destroyed. Degaussing and physical destruction of hard drive platters eliminates the possibility of sensitive data falling into the wrong hands. It is a solution driven by compliance, quality control and protection. Other solutions and software are subject to human error and run the risk of resulting in incomplete destruction. This then creates security questions, unnecessary legal risk and other vulnerabilities to your sensitive data. We allow you to see the proof for yourself, as is happens.

M & K’s Mobile Degaussing unit listed on NSA Degausser Approved Product List, NSA/CSS EPL-9-12A-B. Rare Earth Permanent Magnets provide total data elimination.  Our four-shaft shredder is a state-of-the-art, 32-horsepower unit, designed to destroy five-hundred hard drives per hour.

Certificate of Destruction is issued for each lot destroyed, and upon request, asset serial numbers are scanned and recorded. All shredded material is recycled for intrinsic base and precious metal values.
